Transform Your Kitchen Without a Full Renovation
Replacing kitchen cabinets can cost $15,000 to $30,000 or more. Professional cabinet painting? Typically $1,800 to $4,500 — and the results can be just as dramatic.
If your cabinets are structurally sound but look dated, painting is one of the best home improvement investments you can make.
What’s Involved in Professional Cabinet Painting?
1. Removal and Labeling
Every door, drawer front, and piece of hardware is carefully removed and labeled so everything goes back exactly where it belongs.
2. Thorough Cleaning and Degreasing
Kitchen cabinets accumulate years of cooking grease, especially around the stove and above the dishwasher. This must be completely removed or paint won’t stick.
3. Sanding and Priming
We sand every surface to create a mechanical bond for the primer. Then we apply a high-adhesion primer specifically designed for cabinetry — this is what prevents peeling and chipping.
4. Painting
We spray cabinets with a fine-finish sprayer for a smooth, factory-like finish. Two coats of cabinet-grade paint (Benjamin Moore Advance or Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane are our go-to products).
5. Reassembly
Once cured, we reinstall everything with new hardware if desired. The transformation is remarkable.
Popular Cabinet Colors in 2026
- White/Off-White: Still the #1 choice for brightening kitchens
- Navy Blue: Dramatic on islands or lower cabinets
- Sage Green: A warm, trendy alternative to gray
- Greige: The perfect neutral that works with everything
